Somebody, somebody, somebody, somebody!!

"Mmm now let me get this right.... Somebody, somebody somebody somebody"

These were Myster C's exact words after we watched two episodes of Henry VII: The Mind of a Tyrant one morning last Thursday and delved into books on the rise of the Tudors and the demise of the two little princes in the tower. Aaaaagh. His confusion came from two many Elizabeths, a couple of Edwards, two Henry's and an uncle Richard who may have killed his nephew Richard. I can see his point. So through the whole lot I went again ... and probably again wishing I'd never heard of the Tudors, but we persevered he and I until he announced "That's it I've had enough". So somewhat relieved I sat back.

An hour later he had built a huge Tower of London out of old videos in the middle of the floor and was reinacting some famous incarcerations out with Lego men. The poor little princes were dissected, various parts built into the walls and the rest dumped in a treasure box for his pirates to find later. King Henry had a very impressive playmobile throne and the executioners block was truly chilling complete with a man head to toe in black with an axe as back up if the guillotine failed. I curled up on the sofa with cups of tea and the cats and watched the last two episodes of Henry VII just visible over the top of the Tower of London which had of course been erected in front of the TV. So in the end a happy time with various visual delights drifting across Myster C's line of vision and bits of info seeping into his brain. His question's kept coming, I kept pressing pause, I kept answering and I kept replaying. We have both learnt a lot more about Henry VIII, his dad Henry, his mum Elizabeth, his daughter Elizabeth, a few Edwards, a big Richard and a little Richard, oh and don't forget to chuck in a couple of Mary's for good measure, but what we both remember is another matter entirely.... and why did Henry VIII have to have three good friends or advisors all called Thomas!!
